By driving on GoSplit, you commit to upholding these principles and contributing to a safe, respectful, and trustworthy community for all passengers and drivers. This Code is expressly incorporated into, and forms part of, the GoSplit Terms and Conditions; a failure to comply with this Code may constitute a breach of those Terms.
1. Core Principles
Every GoSplit driver is expected to embody the following core principles:

Your primary responsibility is the safety and wellbeing of your passengers. Drive defensively, maintain your vehicle, and always prioritize passenger safety over convenience or speed.

Treat all passengers with respect, dignity, and courtesy. Recognize the diversity of GoSplit's community and respect the rights and perspectives of all users.
🎯 Responsibility and Accountability
Take responsibility for your actions and decisions. Maintain transparency, admit mistakes, and commit to continuous improvement as a driver.
✨ Excellence and Professionalism
Conduct yourself professionally at all times. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, punctuality, and service quality. Go above and beyond to create positive experiences.
⚖️ Fairness and Integrity
Be honest and fair in all interactions. Charge agreed-upon fares, honor commitments, and conduct yourself with integrity in all business dealings.
2. Driving Standards
2.1 Safe Driving Commitment
You commit to:
- Following all traffic laws and road regulations
- Adapting your driving to road and weather conditions
- Maintaining safe following distances and speeds
- Never driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing substances
- Never driving while fatigued or impaired
- Keeping your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel
- Avoiding aggressive driving, honking, or gestures
- Taking breaks on long journeys to prevent fatigue
2.2 Vehicle Maintenance
You are responsible for maintaining your vehicle to GoSplit standards:
- Regular maintenance and mechanical checks
- Clean, well-maintained interior and exterior
- Functioning safety equipment and lights
- Current vehicle registration and insurance
- Immediate repair of any safety defects
- Professional appearance suitable for passenger transport
2.3 Zero Tolerance for Impairment
You must NEVER drive under the influence of:
- Alcohol (any amount)
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Prescription or over-the-counter medication that impairs judgment or alertness
- Any other substance that may affect your driving ability
Violation of this standard will result in immediate permanent account termination with no opportunity for reinstatement.
3. Passenger Care and Service
3.1 Professional Demeanor
When interacting with passengers, you should:
- Greet passengers in a polite and respectful manner
- Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance
- Speak respectfully and professionally
- Avoid being loud, rude, or confrontational
- Be patient and understanding with passengers
- Adapt your approach to different passenger preferences
3.2 Passenger Comfort
You are responsible for passenger comfort:
- Keep your vehicle clean, odor-free, and well-maintained
- Maintain appropriate temperature (heating/cooling)
- Adjust driving style for passenger comfort
- Respect passenger privacy and personal space
- Allow adequate space for passengers and their belongings
- Be responsive to passenger requests and concerns
3.3 Service Standards
You commit to these service standards:
- Punctuality: Arrive at pickup location within agreed timeframe
- Route Clarity: Confirm the route with passengers before departing
- Navigation: Follow the agreed route or discuss any changes
- Communication: Keep passengers informed if delays occur
- Courtesy: Thank passengers and bid them well at drop-off
- Honesty: Accept the agreed fare without dispute or negotiation
4. Respect and Non-Discrimination
4.1 Inclusion and Respect
GoSplit is committed to an inclusive platform. You must:
- Respect passengers of all races, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds
- Not discriminate based on age, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- Respect passengers with disabilities and provide reasonable accommodation
- Welcome passengers from all walks of life
- Refuse service on discriminatory grounds is strictly prohibited
4.2 Zero Tolerance for Harassment
You must NOT engage in:
- Sexual harassment or sexual advances
- Verbal harassment, insults, or offensive comments
- Intimidation, threats, or aggressive behavior
- Unwanted physical contact
- Discrimination or prejudicial behavior
- Any behavior that makes a passenger feel unsafe or unwelcome
Any harassment will result in immediate account termination.
4.3 Mental Boundaries
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with passengers:
- Do not make unsolicited personal comments or inquiries
- Avoid asking sensitive questions about religion, politics, personal life, etc.
- Keep conversation professional and appropriate
- Respect passengers who prefer to remain silent
- Do not exchange personal contact information or social media
- Do not attempt to form relationships outside the platform
5. Privacy and Data Protection
5.1 Passenger Confidentiality
You must protect passenger privacy:
- Do not share passenger phone numbers, addresses, or personal details
- Do not discuss passengers or rides with others
- Do not post about passengers on social media
- Do not take photographs or videos of passengers without explicit consent
- Maintain confidentiality even after the ride is complete
- Comply with GoSplit's Privacy Policy
5.2 Data Security
You are responsible for securing passenger information:
- Do not share passenger data with third parties
- Do not access passenger data beyond what's necessary for the ride
- Protect any information visible on your phone while passengers are present
- Report any data breaches or security concerns to GoSplit immediately
6. Financial Honesty and Integrity
6.1 Fair Pricing
You commit to fair and honest pricing:
- Agree on the ride contribution before departure
- Accept payment without dispute or negotiation
- Provide receipts or confirmation of payment as requested
- Do not charge hidden fees or surcharges
- Do not overcharge passengers intentionally
- Maintain consistency in pricing across all passengers
6.2 Payment Processing
Handle all payments professionally:
- Accept payment via agreed method only
- Process payments securely and promptly
- Provide proof of payment if requested
- Do not retain passenger payment information
6.3 No Exploitation
You must not:
- Take advantage of vulnerable passengers
- Charge excessive fares to certain passenger groups
- Pressure passengers into higher payments
- Accept tips/gratuity under coercion
- Require payment for services that should be included
7. Incident Response and Reporting
7.1 Accident Responsibility
If involved in an accident during a ride:
- Ensure everyone's safety first
- Contact emergency services if anyone is injured
- Exchange information with other parties
- Take photographs of the scene and damage
- Immediately notify GoSplit
- Cooperate fully with police and insurance
- Provide accurate information in your accident report
7.2 Incident Reporting
You must report to GoSplit:
- Any accidents or vehicle damage during a ride
- Any passenger conflicts or safety concerns
- Any threatening or abusive passenger behavior
- Any damage to your vehicle by a passenger
- Any changes in your driver's license, insurance, or vehicle status

If you experience a threatening or dangerous situation:
- End the ride and move to safety
- Call police (15) if threatened or in danger
- Do not engage with aggressive passengers

8. Intellectual Honesty and Transparency
8.1 Honest Representation
You must represent yourself honestly on GoSplit:
- Use a real, recognizable profile photo
- Provide accurate vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate)
- Accurately describe your vehicle condition
- Do not use fake reviews or ratings
- Do not manipulate your platform statistics
8.2 Transparency with Passengers
Be transparent in all communications:
- Confirm pickup location and estimated arrival time
- Notify passengers of any delays
- Explain any route changes before proceeding
- Be honest about vehicle condition or any issues
- Communicate clearly about pricing and payment
9. Continuous Improvement
9.1 Learning and Development
Commit to continuous improvement as a driver:
- Respond constructively to passenger feedback and ratings
- Identify areas for improvement based on reviews
- Implement changes based on feedback
- Participate in GoSplit training when offered
- Stay informed about platform policies and updates
9.2 Community Contribution
Help improve GoSplit for everyone:
- Report platform issues and bugs when you encounter them
- Provide constructive feedback on platform features
- Help other drivers learn best practices
- Contribute to a positive driver community
- Mentor newer drivers when appropriate
10. Rating and Reputation
10.1 Understanding Ratings
Your GoSplit rating reflects your performance as a driver:
- Rating scale: 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent)
- Ratings are based on passenger experience and feedback
- Your rating affects your visibility and ride availability
- Minimum rating threshold for platform access: 4.6 stars
- Falling below minimum rating may result in account suspension
10.2 Improving Your Rating
To maintain or improve your rating:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean, well-maintained vehicle
- Be punctual and professional
- Drive safely and considerately
- Respond to feedback constructively
- Address any concerns raised in negative reviews
10.3 Disputing Ratings
If you believe a rating is unfair:
- You may appeal the rating through GoSplit's appeals process
- Provide context or evidence supporting your appeal
- GoSplit will review appeals and may remove misleading ratings

11. Violations and Consequences
11.1 Violation Categories
Violations of this Code of Conduct may include:
- Safety violations (reckless driving, impairment)
- Harassment or discrimination
- Financial dishonesty (overcharging, fraud)
- Privacy violations
- Failure to maintain vehicle standards
- Repeated poor customer service
- Violation of the Terms and Conditions
11.2 Consequences
Violations may result in:
- Written warning
- Mandatory training or counseling
- Temporary suspension (24 hours to 30 days)
- Extended suspension (30-90 days)
- Permanent account termination
Serious Violations (impairment, sexual harassment, violence, fraud) will result in immediate permanent account termination with no opportunity for reinstatement.
11.3 Appeal Process
If your account is suspended or terminated:
- You have the right to appeal the decision
- Submit your appeal within 7 days
- Provide context or additional information
- An independent review team will reconsider the decision
